Who Is Spiritual Direction For?
Barbara welcomes people of all backgrounds and life seasons. You do not need to have your faith figured out, or be in crisis, or belong to a particular church or tradition. Spiritual direction is for anyone who feels a genuine desire to pay attention to God.
Barbara has a particular heart for those navigating:
- Grief and loss
- Major life transitions — retirement, divorce, an empty nest, a career shift, relocation
- Spiritual longing or a sense of disconnection from faith
- Burnout, especially for those in ministry, caregiving, or helping professions
- Seasons of questioning, doubt, or spiritual dryness
- A desire to deepen prayer life and contemplative practice
- Recovery and healing — finding God’s presence in the midst of hard things
She also works with church staff, ministry teams, and groups seeking a prayerful space for collective discernment and renewal.
Ways to Work with Barbara
Individual Spiritual Direction
One-on-one sessions with Barbara offer a private, unhurried space for personal reflection, prayer, and discernment. Sessions are one hour and typically meet monthly, though frequency can be adjusted to your needs and season of life.
Group Spiritual Direction
For groups of five or more — church staff, small groups, ministry teams, or communities of faith — Barbara facilitates a shared contemplative space that honors each person’s unique journey while fostering collective attentiveness to God’s movement in the group.
Half-Day Retreats
Barbara offers half-day retreat experiences for individuals or groups seeking extended time apart for silence, prayer, and spiritual renewal. Retreats can be designed around a theme or simply held as open, contemplative space. Contact Barbara to discuss what a retreat might look like for you or your group.
