Amy is a licensed professional counselor whose focus is to help those suffering in the present because of unresolved traumatic experiences in the past. She also provides care and support to other counselors/helping professionals, assisting in the processing of vicarious trauma.
Amy’s goals are to help clients find resolution and healing from the impacts of traumatic experiences, grief and loss; to help people in relationships learn to listen better to each other. She aspires to be fully present, to offer a dialogue in which each person becomes truly visible.
Her primary areas of practice include trauma/PTSD and grief, working especially with adult survivors of sexual abuse and survivors of suicide loss, and integrating spirituality with healing. Amy sees individual adults (18+), including LGTBQ, with an emphasis on women.
She co-facilitates Survivors of Suicide (SOS), a suicide bereavement support group.
Prior to opening her own practice, Amy worked for the Pastoral Institute in Columbus.
Amy is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She is certified in EMDR therapy for trauma and in providing telementalhealth. She received her BA from Stephens College, Columbia MO and her MS in community counseling from Columbus State University, Columbus GA.
